What's inside a KMZ file?

A KMZ file is just a KML file zipped up (often with embedded icons or images): it's the format Google Earth uses to export a whole map as one file. This tool extracts the KML inside and converts it to GPX, without ever sending the file to a server: the unzipping happens entirely in your browser.
